Operations Coordinator

San Francisco, CA
Full Time
AV Fleet - Ops
Entry Level

avfleet.ai runs an electric fleet for rideshare and last-mile delivery in San Francisco. When a shift is live, the Operations Coordinator is the person drivers turn to — the one who runs the huddle, answers the radio, shows up when something goes wrong, and makes sure the shift is recorded right.

What you’ll do

  • Run the pre-shift huddle. Get your drivers aligned on safety, shift priorities, latest company communications, and confirm everyone’s ready to roll

  • Coach in the moment. Watch how your drivers are doing, give them useful feedback while it still matters, and flag patterns to your Supervisor

  • Be the two-way radio. Carry direction from your Supervisor to your drivers, and carry your drivers’ concerns back up. Both directions matter equally

  • Solve problems live. Trip issues, collisions, a van that won’t charge — you coordinate the response with appropriate parties and stay with it until it’s handled

  • Keep the record straight. Attendance, tardiness, shift start and end, exceptions. Accurate records protect your drivers and your operation

  • Get vehicles ready. Work with maintenance, charging, and fleet so cars are charged, clean, and assigned before drivers shows up

  • Watch the board. Live maps, safety alerts and dashboards all shift, so you catch the flags before they become problems

What you bring

  • A year or more in dispatch, coordination, team lead, or a customer-facing role — transportation, logistics, delivery, hospitality, call center, or field ops all count. Or equivalent experience

  • You’re comfortable with live maps, dashboards, and apps, and you pick up new tools fast

  • You can run a room of drivers at huddle and can keep composure during difficult coaching sessions and driver conflicts. De-escalation skills are key

  • Detail discipline. The shift records must be right

  • Availability for full-time evening and/or overnight shifts, including weekends

  • A valid California driver’s license and ability to meet our insurance standards — you’ll occasionally drive a company vehicle to reach a driver at an incident or move cars in the lot

No degree required

Nice to have

  • You’ve driven for Uber or Lyft

  • You’ve coordinated or led an hourly team before

  • Familiarity with EVs, charging, or fleet operations

  • You know San Francisco geography and traffic patterns

  • Able to speak Spanish

What it pays

$24.00 – $26.00 per hour. This is the good-faith range we reasonably expect to pay on hire; where you land depends on your experience and internal equity.

Predictable hours. We schedule 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week and we staff to end on time. Overtime is occasional rather than routine — when it happens, it’s paid at time and a half past 8 hours in a day or 40 in a week.

We also offer medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and California paid sick leave.

The environment

You’ll move between the office and an active vehicle yard through your shift, stand for huddles, occasionally lift up to 40 pounds, and work evenings, overnights, and weekends. Need a reasonable accommodation to do any part of this job? Tell us and we’ll work it out with you.

How to apply

We read every application ourselves — no automated screening, no resume-ranking software.
